Natura Bisse Double Action Hydro Protective Day Cream is intended to restore moisture and suppleness to dry skin and to protect the skin from extreme environmental conditions. The formula claims to use amino acids and plant extracts and includes a sunscreen.

Natura Bisse was founded over 25 years ago in Barcelona and began with a skin care product line of five creams; they currently have more than 300 products within the 12 product lines, and the products are available in 35 different countries.

The product is advertised as containing highly refined natural collagen amino acids in order to restore moisture to the skin, and avocado oil and aloe vera to moisturize, smooth and protect the skin. Avocado oil is rich vitamins A, D and E, all of which have antioxidant effects.

Collagen is the compound responsible for maintaining the skin’s strength and elasticity and also helps strengthen the blood vessels and aids in tissue development. As collagen levels deplete during the aging process, wrinkles are more likely to form, so the substance is often added to anti-aging formulas to help firm the skin.

Avocado Oil contains plant steroids that may help reduce age spots and heal sun damage on the skin, as well as provide moisture. It is thought that it is easily absorbed in the skin, making it effective for dry skin. One study was conducted that indicated use of the oil may increase collagen levels, but that was done in 1991, and no recent studies are available.
