Merle Norman® is a company that develops, manufactures and distributes skin care and cosmetic products for men and women. The company is based in Los Angeles, and all of the products are sold through independently owned and operated Merle Norman® Cosmetic Studios in the United States and Canada. According to the website, there are approximately 2,000 of these studios in existence.
The company started in the 1920’s when a woman named Merle Norman® created her own line of cosmetics. Today, the company manufactures hundreds of skin care products. We will take a closer look below.

The company has a pretty extensive list of skin care products, including moisturizers, cleansers and special treatments. The Luxiva® line is said to be suitable for all skin types, and includes products that are intended to minimize fine lines, exfoliate the skin and control shine. This appears to be the company’s anti-aging skin care line.
The company lifts brief descriptions of each of the products, but the complete label is not given as of review. Interestingly, no prices are listed, either. We will look more closely below.

The product that catches our attention is the Luxiva® Changing Skin Treatment, a moisturizer that is supposedly formulated “to address the key skin care concerns associated with hormonal changes. Some of these changes include increased dryness, sensitivity and loss of resiliency.
The key ingredients included in the formula are Soy, Clover and Wild Yam to firm and hydrate the skin; Pro-Retinol to condition the skin; and Menthol to cool the skin. It also contains SPF 15 to protect the skin from further sun damage.
According to the website, women should notice a improvement in skin resiliency, skin tone and the appearance of wrinkles after eight weeks of using the product. At this time, no research is posted on the website, however.

All of the products are listed on the site, with brief descriptions posted. As mentioned, some of the key active ingredients are listed for most of the products, but the complete label is not provided at this time.
We noticed that some of the products claim to enable women to see significant changes after eight weeks of use, indicating that perhaps a clinical trial was conducted. As of review, no further details of the study are given, however.

Those looking for a specialized skin care treatment or any skin care product to incorporate into the daily routine will find many products available from Merle Norman®. We appreciate the number of possibilities for improving the skin, and that significant results should be noticed within about two months. However, we would like to see more details about where these claims are coming from.
We find most companies that post any type of statistic will cite the research so that women have a better understanding of the trials that were conducted. This enables us to know that the claims are valid; without knowing all of the ingredients contained in the products or the details of the studies, we feel it is difficult to determine how well the formulas will work in reality. Women may prefer to choose formulas that contain a blend of clinically proven ingredients, preferably one that may be purchased online.
