Lycogel

Lycogel Review Summary

The Lycogel™ product line from Dermacia® MD is advertised as the “only makeup that increases oxygen” to the wearer’s skin. The foundation comes in shades suitable for all skin tones, and has supposedly been clinically tested to show its effectiveness over the leading brands of cosmetics products.

According to the website, the Lycogel™ product line combines cosmetic and skin care technology to create products that “increase oxygenation, reduce redness, swelling and irritation and soothe sensitive skin.” Additionally, it is said to stimulate collagen production and protect from environmental damage. We will look more closely at the Lycogel™ cosmetic products below.

Ingredients at a Glance
The formula for Lycogel™ Camouflage and Concealer contains vitamins A, C and E to protect the skin from free radical damage, plus other ingredients intended to moisturize and heal.

The complete list of ingredients is not given at this time; we will look at the active ingredients below.

Ingredients in Focus
Many skin care products include Vitamins E and C for their antioxidant properties and Vitamin A for the belief that it may restore the skin. However, both of these vitamins may have the best effect on the skin when consumed through foods rich in them, as opposed to topical applications.

Vitamin C may restore Collagen and Elastin production, and is thought to firm the skin as a result. Studies have shown that Vitamin C may only be useful to the body when applied to the skin when it is in the form of L-Ascorbic Acid; it is not stated what form of Vitamin C is included in the Lycogel™ formula.

Lifestyle
Since many changes occur in the skin that become more visible over time, women may be interested in using cosmetics that improve the quality of the skin. Since most women use foundation on their skin for the majority of the day, using Lycogel™ Camouflage may be appealing.

Women also may find that an additional product may be beneficial for restoring the skin. An ingredient shown to be effective for repairing damaged cells is Matrixyl 3000®, which firms and strengthens the skin by increasing Collagen production. It has been clinically proven to decrease the depth, density and volume of wrinkles, and is available in top quality formulas on the market.

Final Thoughts
We appreciate that Dermacia® MD has created the Lycogel™ product line for women interested in using a daily foundation that may potentially protect and improve the skin. It seems to be rich in antioxidant vitamins, but unfortunately, not all ingredients are listed at this time, so we cannot be sure that it contains the most advanced ingredients available.

Women may prefer a strong moisturizer containing Matrixyl 3000® to restore Collagen and increase the strength of the skin. A product like this may be used on its own, or in addition to a nourishing foundation. We suggest seeking a product that may be purchased from the company online, preferably one that comes with a money-back guarantee.
