Dior Capture R60/80

Dior Capture R60/80 Review Summary

Capture R60/80 Bi-Skin Ultimate Wrinkle Cream is manufactured and marketed by Christian Dior, based in Paris, France with product availability in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.

This particular product is part of the R 60/80 Bi-Skin line within the skin care line of Christian Dior. It is said to be comprised of the “mild exfoliating action of a marine-derived biological complex for an intense smoothing effect.” It is available in two textures—rich and light—and is supposed to be used day and night on face and throat after makeup removal or after Capture XR60/80 Bi-Skin Inside Serum.

We believe that there are companies that provide an optimal product with the best ingredients in one formula, and we discourage those seeking an anti-aging formula from going with a company that requires more than one product.

Nevertheless, we will review this product and the benefits it claims to have.

Ingredients at a Glance
Unfortunately, Christian Dior does not provide the specific ingredients in this product. All that it provides is what is stated above.

We find this a bit discouraging, as it is very important for customers to be able to make an educated decision on which products to buy for their anti-aging needs.

We find this often happens with larger companies that benefit from a loyal fan base due to the company’s longevity in the skin care market and its ability to invest largely in its marketing campaigns.

Because of this omission, we are not able to review the ingredients and will quickly review the said benefits of the products that it claims works well with the featured one.

Other Products in Anti-Aging Line
As stated above, Dior suggests the use of the featured product after using Capture XR60/80 Bi-Skin Inside Serum. All of the ingredients in this product are not provided either, but it does state that it contains “pure micro-protein [that] restores the skin’s dynamic,” and “a patented seaweed extract [that] promotes skin revitalization.” This supposed to be used day and night alone or before the featured product, Capture R60/80 Bi-Skin Ultimate Wrinkle Cream.

Within the anti-aging skin care line of Christian Dior, they have the following categories: Global Skincare, Firmness, Prevention, Age Spot Correction, and Wrinkle Correction.

So, aside from the featured product and its suggested ancillary products to go with it, there are four other categories to deal with other aging problems of the skin.

We believe these other categories to be superfluous and unnecessary, especially when there are formulas on the market that contain the most up-to-date, scientifically-proven ingredients to aid in all aspects of skin aging.

For example, one of the best ingredients on the market today that strengthens the structure of the skin while promoting Collagen production is Matrixyl 3000®. It is a patented ingredient of a powerful pentapeptide complex that is proven to stimulate the fibroblasts in the skin, which are responsible for stimulating Collagen production.

Because Collagen makes up 75 percent of the dermis layer of the skin and is very instrumental is keeping the skin looking young and vibrant, it is extremely important to make sure Collagen is being continually generated in the skin.

This, along with Argireline®, another patented ingredient, makes for a very synergistic pair. There are no ingredients in the Dior products that claim to actually reverse the signs of aging by decreasing the depth and density of wrinkles already present in the skin.

Argireline® safely relaxes the facial muscles by inhibiting neurotransmitters from firing, which result in facial muscles contractions. This reprieve from the constant contractions our facial muscles make gives the muscles a chance to relax, which results in the flattening of these muscles. This, in turn, physically decreases the depth of the wrinkles.

Website
The website gives marketing information about the origins of Christian Dior and a line of products for men and women. Clinical studies proving effectiveness are not posted.

Final Thoughts
In the end, we do not believe that Christian Dior tries hard enough to prove the effectiveness of its products. It does not offer a free trial, there are no testimonials posted on the site, and it does not offer a complete list of the ingredients in each product.

Resting on a “name” seems to be enough for this company. In addition, it does not offer one proven formula for all anti-aging needs, but actually has five different categories of different products for “different problems” related to aging skin. Seek products that offer the best ingredients all in one formula at a value.
