Derma Wand Review Summary |
|
These days it seems that women have a great deal of choices when it comes to skin care products, directed toward increasing both skin health and reducing age related skin issues, such as wrinkles, facial lines and sagging. In fact, topical formulas that use effective elements, such as Matrixyl 3000® and Argireline®, have become heavily desired because they each have a direct ability to affect the appearance of wrinkles.
However, there are also devices, such as Derma Wand®, which are created to increase complexion quality and skin health. Some of these products are highly effective when combined with a good skin care regimen, while others promise more than they are able to deliver. Let’s take an in-depth look at this product to see how it works and how effective it may be.

Derma Wand® is a handheld device created to address several skin related issues that many people wrestle with, often more so as time goes on, and the aging process really begins to show. The advertising for Derma Wand® suggests that it may restore the skin’s firmness by tightening and lifting. Also, the thermal energy used in this product is suggested to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and the appearance of skin folds.
This developer also claims that this product may ease enlarged pores and puffy eyes. We find these kinds of claims are made by a variety of products; however, it is only through carefully reviewing the technology used that we may ascertain its possible effectiveness.

In some professional settings, larger, more focused corrective technology is used to assist individuals in increasing skin health, as well as increasing complexion quality. Derma Wand® is purported to be a “condensed version” of this technology. It provides people with the ability to apply a stream of “impulses stimulating at 114,000 cycles per second” to their facial skin. This is purported to “smooth away the appearance of lines and wrinkles” by delivering enriched oxygen to the skin, in order to retexture its surface.
On paper this sounds great, because as we know, oxygen is good for the skin. However, we find there is little research that proves the use of these home-based devices may dramatically affect the appearance of skin or reduce wrinkles, sagging or facial lines. For instance, there is almost always a dearth of information regarding research that supports this procedure on websites that market them. This is very much the case with Derma Wand®. At this time, this website fails to give any kind of viable information regarding this technology or its implementation. Instead, it relies on hype to make the sell. So it looks great on the surface, but we find it lacks substance as we dig beneath the surface.

Some developers use this technology to try to increase Collagen synthesis deep in the layers of the skin. This is done in order to replace old damaged Collagen, and to enhance structure, tone and elasticity. However, we believe rarely does this technology create this effect; although there are some really effective topical formulations that may achieve this effect. Derma Wand® comes with a hydrating cream, but they do not disclose what is used in it, which we find troubling.
We believe it would have been valuable if they disclosed their formulary, because some elements are far more effective than others. For instance, Matrixyl 3000® has achieved some really great results according to some studies, in terms of decreasing wrinkle density, volume and depth. It has also been shown to have a direct impact on augmenting actual Collagen production. Our findings show that when Matrixyl 3000® is combined with Real Collagen, it may be an even more effective skin rejuvenator.

 | Final Thoughts |
|
Some women may well give this product a try, with the hope that it will improve their complexion, as well as ease some signs of aging. However, after carefully reviewing this product and the technology used, we remain unconvinced that it may in any way significantly impact the feel or look of a person’s skin.
As noted earlier, our research shows that topically based formulas, which include elements such as Matrixyl 3000®, have been shown to be far more effective in terms of directly addressing wrinkles, sagging and facial lines.
